34. Fruits Basket Natsuki Takaya

image

Summary: The enigmatic Sohma family shares a great secret ~they are possessed by spirits of the Chinese Zodiac, and when they are hugged by members of the opposite sex, they transform into their Zodiac animal!

Review: This is one of the best shojo manga I’ve ever read. the whole story was intriguing, especially the whole curse/zodiac members/the romance/comedy. as the series progress, Tohru learns more of about about the curse of the sohma family, and the whole secret behind the head of the family Akito(who is by far my favorite villain.)

overall this series was charming, sad, and funny.

Thanks for following, and here's my question: What's your favorite book and why? (If someone asked me question like that I would honestly had no idea what to write, there are so many amazing books)

There is to much to choose from, but I think my favorite book would be the harry potter series. because i think my love for books started when i read my first harry potter book. I thought it was so cool and unique, i would read them all over again.

33. Love Hina by Ken Akamastu

image

Review: Love Hina is an amazing, and hilarious series. I read the whole series(14 volumes.)during my freshman year of high school. It was my first Harem/Romance manga, and I was very impress by it. The romance/comedy was unbelievable, every page made me laugh or smile, the character were so darn hilarious. The manga was way perverted, which is one of the reason why I found it so hilarious. The main character would always find himself in this perverted situation with the girls he lived with, and I would just crack up.

Summary:When Keitaro Urashima fails his entrance exams to get into Tokyo University for the second time, his parents kick him out of the house. Fortunately, his grandmother agrees to take Keitaro as the caretaker of her Hinata Lodge, which is actually a girls dorm.

32. House of Night: Marked by P.C. & Kristin Cast

image

Summary: Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird is Marked as a fledging vampyre and joins the House of Night where she will train to become an adult vampyre.

Review: Kudos to Kristin and P.C. Cast on their originality in this book. I thought this book was addictive, funny, and awesome. The characters were amazing especially The Twin(who aren’t really twins.) at first i thought they cheesy, but then they really became my favorite characters, including Damian(with his big oxford dictionary vocabulary.) Character I hated the most was Aphrodite, though i also loved her. You could say she is the B.I.T.C.H/H.O.E.I.S.H character in the series. I also did love the main character Zoey, she strong/geeky/intriguing character.

The whole Concept of how you turn into a vampire was great, it’s kind of very religion/mythology type of thing.

This book was not like any other vampire books i’ve ever read, it creative. XD

31. The Vampire Diaries: Dark Reunion by L.J. Smith

image

Summary: Elena rises from the dead and awakens the vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon, to help her save her beloved town from an inexplicable evil.

Review: This is great a series, The fourth book switched from Elena’s perspective to Bonnie’s, which i really liked because Bonnie’s character really developed same as Meridith. I was really intrigued with the whole mystery about this new evil that has come to town. The pace was quick, and everything I felt about the ending in the third book was all forgotten. I really love that Elena came back and saved the day.

30. Dark Visions Trilogy by L.J. Smith

image

Summary: Finding at last a place where she fits in, Kaitlyn gains acceptance among her psychic peers at Zetes Institute, but when she learns about a dangerous experiment that will impact the lives of all the students, her trust is shattered and she must stand on her own to survive the horrible events she knows are imminent

Review: L.J. Smith is brilliant writer, I haven’t read a book that had to do with people have psychic abilities. I only picked this book up because I saw the movie Push(which was great.) What I really enjoyed about the trilogy was the love triangel between Gabriel,Kaitlyn, and Rob. The characters were great and unique, especially Grabriel, who goes from dark to light.(I think out of all of the characters he changed the most.) Before then end of the book you really do know who Kaitlin will end up with, it was really predictable, though I did like who she ends up with.

The book had a really quick pace, there were no dull moments, and yeah the whole psychic thing was great.

I really hope Lj Smith continues this series.

29. Unraveled by Gena Showalter

image

Summary: With a war brewing between the creatures of the dark and Aden at the center, he decides he is not just going to accept his destiny, but fight back with his friends by his side.

Review: I think the second book might have been better then the first one. Characters relationships have really changed since the first book.Mary Anne became my favorite character in this book, only because she wanted to learn how to fight/defend her self and not rely on Riley or anyone else. I also started to really like her when she finds out what her deadly abilities is, which was a bit of a shocker, I thought it was perfect and made a more interesting character. I’m looking forward to see how this deadly ability affects her and everyone around her in the next book.

Overall by the end of this book you will be wanting to read the next book in the series, characters will change drastically whether physically, or emotionally, and there will be a lot of unanswered questions.

28. Intertwined by Gena Showalter

image

Summary: Hosting the souls of four supernatural beings in his mind, Aden Stone struggles for a normal life before befriending three fellow teens, including a girl who helps him to quiet his powers, a werewolf shape-shifter, and a vampire princess.

Review: This book is really good, the whole concept, and story was oringinal. Character were amazing and unique. I really liked how the book was a perfect balance of male and female protagonist, It switched from Aden to Marie Anne, and there story/relationship/life really did intertwined, I thought it was perfect. I also really enjoyed the supernatural aspect of it. It had vampires, werewolf, goblins, witches, zombies, ect, which was awesome XD.

This book was amazing, i couldn’t put it down. So many things happens, and so many things are left unfinished.

Best series I’ve read so far!

27. Wicked: Witch & Curse by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie

image

Review: Wicked great book, Comes with two in one. I read this last year with high expectations, which were met. The story was unique, I really enjoyed how it was kind of similar to Romeo and Juliet, and the whole wicca aspect to it. The only issue I had with this book was the flashbacks, I know that it is essential to the story but, I kind of did not find them interesting, only some parts.

Summary: Holly Cather is sent to live with her aunt and cousins in Seattle when her parents are killed, and there she enters into a world of witches, secrets, and alliances where ancient magics yield deadly results

26. True Blood: Club Dead by Charlaine Harris

image

Summary: When her vampire boyfriend Bill disappears, Sookie journeys to Mississippi to find her beloved, who has gotten himself caught in a dangerous web of murder and betrayal at Club Dead, an elite underground society.

Thoughts: I had my ups and downs with the third book, which is one of the reason why I put it down last month, i just finished this today. So Bill goes missing(Yay.) which I thought would be the perfect opportunity for Eric and Sookie’s(I really like how they pronounce her name in trueblood. Especially Bill.) non-existing relationship to progress, which it didn’t, it was to subtle since there were only few short scenes when they’re alone. Then there’s Alcide(Don’t know how to pronounce his name.) who clearly Sookie seems attracted to, I thought it was great that Charlaine brought another supernatural(were-wolf.) but then I just wished that there were more scenes with Eric then with Alcide.

overall the book was good, but not great. now to watch season three XD

25. The Secret Circle Trilogy by L.J. Smith

image

image

Summary:Cassie is drawn into the Secret Circle, a coven of young witches whose power has controlled New Salem for three hundred years, and when she falls hopelessly in love with the leader’s boyfriend, she is tempted to use dark powers.

Review: This trilogy was so amazing, I can’t wait for the show XD. The books were a quick read, Never had a slow pace. For a short trilogy a lot happens(I really do hope she continues the series, just like she did with the vampire diaries.) it had love triangle, or love square what ever, mystery, romance, and suspense. The characters were unforgettable, especially Faye(the bitch in the books.), and Nick(Team Nick here, Adam sucks.)

Overall, it was a good read. can’t wait to see the characters come alive on tv XD

24. Bloody Valentine by Melissa Dela Cruz

image

I think the blue bloods series is getting shorter and shorter. Bloody Valentine is a perfect example of how short this series is getting.

Basically  Bloody Valentine is three short stories about Oliver finally getting over Schuyler, Allegra first love and Schuyler and Jack’s Bonding ceremony.

Bliss is finally back(can’t wait for her spin-off.) just for the bonding. And Melissa introduces Freya from Witches of east end(which I can’t wait for this book. I guess it’s also a companion series.)

I did enjoyed it, but it was just to short. I really hope Lost in Time and Wolf Pact come out soon.

23. Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn

image

It all starts when Nick asks Norah to be his girlfriend for five minutes. He only needs five minutes to avoid his ex-girlfriend, who’s just walked in to his band’s show. With a new guy. And then, with one kiss, Nick and Norah are off on an adventure set against the backdrop of New York City—and smack in the middle of all the joy, anxiety, confusion, and excitement of a first date.

I’ve been meaning to read Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist since I watched the movie(which I didn’t know that it was based on the book until just a while ago.) and now I finally finished reading it. The book was great though I thought the movie was better, Maybe because there was more comedy in the movie then in the book. Still it was an okay book, It was short, yet a lot happens, the pace was quick(finish it like 1 to 2 days or less.) and the chapters would alt from Nick’s prospective and Nora’s(which I really liked.)

Overall the book was great, and I also like how they made New York interesting, and alive.(Now to watch the movie again XD.)
